Disney’s Hercules will premiere in Hamburg, Germany

The stage version of the Disney animated film will premiere in March

Hercules, the son of Zeus, grows up among humans. When he learns who his father is, he must prove to himself and the world whether he is a hero... The stage version of the Disney animated film, which was released in 1997, will now be announced as a world premiere in Hamburg in March 2024 after the first versions in American theatres in 2019 and 23.

Music and lyrics by Alan Menken and David Zippel, book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw, co-choreographer Tanisha Scott, stage design by Dane Laffrey,  video design by Dane Laffrey and George Reeve, light design by Jeff Croiter, sound design by Kai Harada, costume design by Gregg Barnes and Sky Switser, doll design by James Oritz, hairstyles and wigs by Mia M Neal, makeup by Kirk Cambridge-Del Pesche, special effects by Jeremy Chernick, music supervision and arrangements by Michael Kosarin, orchestration by Danny Troob and Joseph Joubert and dance arrangements by David Chase.

Leading the cast are Benét Monteiro as  Hercules, Mae Ann Jorolan as Meg, Leslie Beehann as Calliope, Chasity Crisp as Thalia, Venolia Manale as Terpsichore, Jamie-Lee Uzoh as Clio, Shekinah Mcfarlane as Melepomene, Kristofer Weinstein-Storey as Phil, Detlef Leistenschneider as Hades, Andre Haedicke as Karl, Mario Saccoccio as Heinz. Understudies for the main roles are Hope Maine, Sophie Mefan, Bathoni Buenorkuor, Stefani Francabandiera, Reginald Jennings, David Negletto, Guillermo Marinez Ayala and Salvatore Marchioner.

The premiere will take place at Neue Flora Theatre in Hamburg, Germany in March 2024
