Is Gary Barlow’s Finding Neverland set to open in London in 2025?

Gary Barlow teased a summer 2025 London run of Finding Neverland

Gary Barlow told Amy Hart on her P&O Cruises Official Podcast: “I spent five years of my life writing that musical. It was a lot of blood sweat and tears but it was worth it. It was absolutely wonderful.”

Finding Neverland is based on the 1998 play The Man Who Was Peter Pan and the film Finding Neverland starred Johnny Depp. The musical tells the story of writer J.M. Barrie and his inspiration for Peter Pan, one of the most iconic characters.

Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy, a book by James Graham write music.

Amy Hart asked: “The first question, it plays my mind a lot, it’s a big part of my life every time I go on my Spotify, and that is when is Finding Neverland coming to the West End? [It] is one of my favourite musicals of all time, I saw it on Broadway, I cried a little bit from 10 minutes in until 10 minutes before the end, and then open-mouth ugly cried for the last 10 minutes! It makes it onto my Spotify top 100 every year.”

Barlow said: “It was years of my life writing that musical, and it was a lot of blood, sweat and tears, but it was worth it because I’d never experienced that before, to sit and watch actors and actresses do your work on stage and watch an audience be emotional to it. It was absolutely wonderful. So in answer to your question – summer 2025.”

Finding Neverland originally premiered at Leicester Curve in 2012, before its US premiere, initially in Chicago and after on Broadway. For the new UK premiere, the book and songs will be updated.
