The Magic Flute – The Musical world premiere in Germany

The classical opera story musical version will premiere on 11 April

The Magic Flute originally is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s masterpiece opera which he composed in 1791 shortly before his death. It tells the story of the young Prince Tamino, sent by the Queen of the Night to save her daughter Pamina from the mysterious Sarastro.

Award-winning composer Frank Nimsgern and director Benjamin Sahler and Aino Laos have created an exciting new musical based on the original story that will have its world premiere at the Deutsches Theater in Munich. The Magic Flute musical builds a bridge between eras with grandiose new songs and intelligent quotations from the famous opera and connects people of all ages.

The show is directed by Benjamin Sahler, with choreography by Stefanie Gröning, Anna Martens and Alina Groder.

Cast members are Patrick Stanke, Misha Kovar, Tim Wilhelm, Anna Maria Kaufmann, Chris Murray, Christian Schöne, Stephanie Gröning, Katja Berg and Maria Mariano in the leading roles. Ensemble members are Angelika Erlacher, Madeleine Heipt and Elisa Rehlinger.
