Calendar Girls The Musical is on tour from 30 August

Casting and tour dates have been announced for Calendar Girls The Musical

Based on the 2003 film, starring Helen Mirren and Julie Walters, the musical was written by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth and premiered in 2015.

The true story follows the death of a much-loved husband and prompts a group of ordinary women in a small Yorkshire Women's Institute to do an extraordinary thing. Blasting away all preconceptions of what it is to be in the WI, they decide to do an artistic nude calendar to raise money for charity. 

Calendar Girls The Musical tour starts at Theatre Royal Windsor on 30 August and will visit Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham, Liverpool Empire, Milton Keynes Theatre, New Theatre in Peterborough, New Wimbledon Theatre, Leeds Grand Theatre, Regent Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent, Darlington Hippodrome, and Hull New Theatre with further stops to be confirmed.

The cast includes Tanya Franks as Annie, Maureen Nolan as Ruth, Lyn Paul as Jessie, Amy Robbins as Chris, Paula Tappenden as Marie, Marti Webb as Celia and Honeysuckle Weeks as Cora. Additional casting is to be announced.

Produced by Bill Kenwright, and directed by Jonathan O’Boyle, the new production will also feature designs by Gary McCann, lighting by Nick Riching and musical direction by Jordan Alexander.
