Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic, Evita is coming to Woking

The show will play at Rhoda McGaw Theatre from 10 to 14 December

Evita is presented by WAOS Musical Theatre, what is a musical theatre society based in Woking, Surrey, United Kingdom and was established over 50 years ago in 1972. WAOS stands for “Woking Amateur Operatic Society”, which was the original name.

Evita charts the young and ambitious Eva Peron’s meteoric rise to sainthood. Set in Argentina between 1934-1952, the Tony-winning musical follows Eva Duarte on her journey from poor illegitimate child to ambitious actress to, as wife of military leader-turned-president Juan Peron, the most powerful woman in Latin America, before her death from cancer at age 33.

The cast members are Tim Beasley as Che, Eva as a teenager will be played by Selina Lambert, as an actress played by Samantha Stott, as the First Lady played by Jenny Jordan. Steve Dorsett will appear as Juan Peron, Patrick Coad as Augustin Magaldi and Becky Muggeridge as Mistress.

The production is directed by Tasha Bennett, musical director Richard Stockton, assistant director Sam Moylan-Heydt, choreographer Lorraine Landon, production manager Sam Moylan-Heydt, set designer Mike Bartlett.
