Antonio Banderas in Sondheim`s Company!

Sondheim`s classic musical is playing in Madrid until the 14th of February

Antonio Banderas says on the Teatro del Soho CaixaBank website “The theatre has been and is my best stage. The purest, closest, and most exciting interpretation is always lived on the stages. My happiest professional time has been linked to theatre, and I dream of having one since the 70s.”

 

Now he is back on the stage as a protagonist of Sondheim`s Company. He not only stars but produces and directs the masterpiece, created by Teatro del Soho CaixaBank.  The show is the winner of the Max Award for Best Musical. The show is on stage at the recently inaugurated Umusic Hotel Teatro Albéniz until 14 February 2023.

 

The show includes music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, author of classics like Into the Woods, Follies or Sweeney Todd and the libretto is by George Furth. The musical director of the Teatro del Soho CaixaBank, Arturo Díez-Boscovich will conduct an orchestra of 26 musicians who will perform live on a revolving stage set in 1970s New York.
