Beauty and the Beast Vienna 2026: Disney Musical to Premiere at Raimund Theater
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will premiere at Vienna’s Raimund Theater in September 2026, bringing the much-loved musical to the Austrian capital in a spectacular new production by Vereinigte Bühnen Wien (VBW).
The Beauty and the Beast Vienna 2026 production will have its official premiere on 25 September 2026, with performances continuing at the Raimund Theater as part of the theatre’s new musical season.
Based on the Oscar-winning Disney animated film, Beauty and the Beast tells the story of Belle, a young woman who finds herself imprisoned in an enchanted castle ruled by the mysterious Beast. As Belle and the Beast gradually get to know each other, the spell placed upon the castle and its inhabitants begins to unravel.
Beauty and the Beast Vienna 2026 Cast
The new Vienna production stars Marlene Jubelius as Belle and Dominik Hees as the Beast.
Jubelius is known to musical theatre audiences from productions including Tanz der Vampire, West Side Story and The Addams Family. Hees has previously appeared on the Viennese musical stage in productions including Maria Theresia – The Musical, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Cats.
The ensemble also features Roy Goldman, Simon Stockinger, Wietske van Tongeren, Mathias Schlung, Linus Al Baroffio, Oliver Huether, Jana Stelley and Birgit Arquin.
A New Production for Vienna
The Beauty and the Beast musical in Vienna brings together an internationally acclaimed creative team. The production is directed and choreographed by Matt West, while the creative team includes original Beauty and the Beast collaborators Alan Menken (music), Tim Rice (lyrics), Linda Woolverton (book), Stanley A. Meyer (scenic design), Ann Hould-Ward (costume design) and Natasha Katz (lighting design).
The production promises to combine the magic of the original Disney musical with elaborate sets, costumes, choreography and modern stage technology.
Fans can look forward to some of the musical’s best-known songs, including “Be Our Guest” and the beautiful title song “Beauty and the Beast”, alongside Alan Menken’s much-loved score.
Performed in German with English surtitles, the Vienna production is aimed at audiences aged six and above.
With its September 2026 premiere, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Raimund Theater will bring one of musical theatre’s most recognisable love stories to Vienna, offering both Disney fans and musical theatre audiences the chance to experience the classic story live on stage.
