Cara Delevingne and Luke Treadaway to join Cabaret in the West End
New casting has been announced from 11 March
Cara Delevingne (Paper Towns, Suicide Squad) and Luke Treadaway (Olivier Award winner for his role in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time) will join the cast of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club as Sally Bowles and the Emcee.
Model and actress Delevingne, making her stage debut, said: “There are no words to explain the excitement I have to return home to make my stage debut in such an iconic role. I am so inspired by the brilliant actors who have played Sally in past productions around the world and in this one in the West End. I cannot wait to be a part of this brilliant cast and production.”
Treadaway added: “I can’t wait to become a member of the Kit Kat Club and join this extraordinary production. It’s a huge thrill to be asked to take this on and I’m very excited to get started.”
They will join Beverley Klein who is playing Fraulein Schneider, Teddy Kempner as Herr Schultz, Wilf Scolding as Ernst Ludwig, Jessica Kirton as Fraulein Kost/Fritzie, Liv Alexander as Texas, Natalie Chua as Frenchie, Drew as Hans, Damon Gould as Victor, El Haq Lateif as Helga, Travis Ross as Bobby, Laura Delany as Rosie, Grant Neal as Herman/Max, Hicaro Nicolai as Lulu, and Nic Myers as the alternate Sally Bowles. The cast is completed by Rebecca Lisewski, Ela Lisondra, Myers, Andy Rees, Toby Turpin and Patrick Wilden.
Cabaret has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, book by Joe Masteroff. The musical on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood.
The prologue company, entertaining audiences before the show begins, currently features Rachel Benson, Ami Benton, Onyemachi Ejimofor, Joseph Hardy, Liz Kamille, Andrew Linnie, Aine McLoughlin, Jack William Parry, Jazmyn Raikes, Oliver Stockley and Ena Yamaguchi.
The show is directed by Rebecca Frecknall, set and costume design by Tom Scutt, choreography by Julia Cheng, musical supervision by Jennifer Whyte and musical direction by Ben Ferguson, lighting design by Isabella Byrd and sound design by Nick Lidster, casting director is Stuart Burt and the associate director is Jordan Fein.
