Cast and creatives announcement for Avenue Q

The show will run from 20th March to 29th August at the Shaftesbury Theatre
Today, producers have officially unveiled the full cast and creative team for the 20th-anniversary West End revival of Avenue Q, set to play a limited season at London’s Shaftesbury Theatre from 20 March to 29 August 2026. The landmark musical, known for its clever blend of puppetry and adult humour, returns with a fresh company of performers and the artistic leadership that helped make the show a global hit.
Fresh out of college and searching for his purpose, Princeton ends up in a shabby apartment on New York’s rundown Avenue Q. He quickly meets his new and colourful neighbours where together they navigate the life struggles of work, love and paying the bills in their own hilarious way.
Leading the cast, Emily Benjamin takes on the dual roles of Kate Monster and Lucy the Slut, with Noah Harrison as Princeton and Rod. Meg Hateley portrays Mrs T and Bad Idea Bear, while Oliver Jacobson appears as Brian. Charlie McCullagh will play Nicky, Trekkie Monster and Bad Idea Bear, and Amelia Kinu Muus and Dionne Ward-Anderson round out principal roles as Christmas Eve and Gary Coleman, respectively. The ensemble also features Jasmine Beel, Jonathan Carlton, Angelis Hunt, Lesley Lemon, Jessica Niles Kadi and Joshua Williams-Ward.
Director Jason Moore said: “From the beginning, Avenue Q has been defined by singular, standout young comedy performers – and this new company continues that tradition! This dynamic group of actors brings exceptional talent and inventive spirit to the stage, bringing perspectives to the show in ways that feel both thrillingly fresh and perfectly timed for today’s London audiences. I can’t wait for audiences to see them in action!”
The revival reunites the production with original Broadway director Jason Moore and retains the iconic Broadway puppets designed by Rick Lyon. Members of the UK-based creative team are Stephen Oremus music orchestrations and arrangements, set design by Anna Louizos, choreography by Ebony Molina, costume design by Jean Chan, lighting design by Tim Lutkin, sound design by Paul Groothuis, video design by Nina Dunn for Pixellux, and puppetry coaching by Iestyn Evans and Andy Heath for Talk to the Hand Puppets, Julie Atherton Associate Director, with musical direction by Benjamin Holder.
