Cast announced for The Producers revival at Menier Chocolate Factory

The musical will run for 14 weeks from 26 November

The first major London revival of Mel Brooks’ musical adaptation of THE PRODUCERS will be staged at the Menier this winter by Tony Award-winning director Patrick Marber and Broadway choreographer Lorin Latarro.

Olivier Award nominee Marc Antolin plays Leo Bloom. His other theatre credits include The Band's Visit (Donmar Warehouse), Little Shop of Horrors (Regent’s Park Open Air; Olivier Award nominee for Best Actor in a Musical), Matilda (Cambridge), and he will soon be seen in the West End in I Wish You Well (Criterion). His film credits include The Outlaws and Keeping Faith.

Olivier Award nominee Andy Nyman plays Max Bialystock. He returns to the Menier Chocolate Factory for the fifth time having previously appeared in Terrible Advice, Abigail’s Party (also in the West End), Assassins and Fiddler on the Roof, for which he was nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for the subsequent West End transfer to the Playhouse. His other theatre credits also include Hello, Dolly! (Palladium), Hangmen (Broadway) and Ghost Stories (Lyric Hammersmith/Duke of York’s), which he co-wrote and directed, as well as starring in the feature film adaptation. His film credits also include Judy and Jungle Cruise.

Harry Morrison plays Franz Liebkind. He returns to the Menier Chocolate Factory for the third time following The Third Man and Assassins. His other theatre credits include Beetlejuice (NCL), Come From Away (Phoenix), Guys & Dolls (Chichester Festival) and Half A Sixpence (Noel Coward).

Joanna Woodward plays Ulla. She returns to the Menier Chocolate Factory for the second time after featuring in Merrily We Roll Along (also in the West End). Her other theatre credits include The Time Traveller’s Wife (Apollo), Pretty Woman: The Musical (Piccadilly), and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Aldwych).

They are joined by Charis Alexandra, Michael Franks, Matt Gillett, Leah Harris, Hana Ichijo, Esme Kennedy, Josh Kiernan, Alex Lodge, Kelsie-Rae Marshall and Chloe Saunders.

Based on the classic cult film, the original Broadway production won a record twelve Tony Awards, and skewers Broadway traditions, taking no prisoners as it proudly proclaims itself an "equal opportunity offender!"

This glittering new production opens on 9 December, with previews from 26 November, and runs until 1 March 2025.

Further casting is to be announced.
