In the musical, Hercules, the son of Zeus and Hera, is cast to Earth by a trick by Hades, the evil underworld god. Still endowed with god-like powers, Hercules searches for his place in the world with the help of his trainer Phil and faces the daunting challenges Hades has in store for him to become a true hero and return to Olympus.
One adventure follows the next as Hercules gains fame and glory in society – and meets Meg, a mortal with strengths all her own who will change his fate.
Music by Alan Menken and David Zippel, which includes all the hits from one of Disney's most popular films; including "Go the Distance," which was nominated for both a Golden Globe and an Oscar in 1998, as well as "Zero to Hero" and "I Won't Say (I'm in Love)." But also new songs, specially designed for the musical stage, take you from Olympus to Hades into the fantastic world of Disney's HERCULES with overwhelming gospel choirs, soulful piano ballads and the unique Disney magic.
The production is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with co-choreography by Tanisha Scott, music by Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, and a fresh book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah. Inspired by the beloved 1997 Disney animated film, Hercules promises a visually dazzling, emotionally resonant journey from “zero to hero” filled with humour, heart, and unforgettable songs like Go the Distance.
With a cast of exceptional talent and creative direction from the team behind The Book of Mormon and Aladdin, Hercules is set to be an underworld-shaking hit. Tickets are on sale now—don’t miss your chance to witness this legendary story live on stage.
