Cast has been announced for Sondheim on Sondheim concert

The concert will be held on 20 and 21 October at Alexandra Palace

The performance offers an intimate portrait of the famed songwriter in his own words and music. Through exclusive interview footage, audiences get an inside look at the personal life and artistic process of the great composer, Stephen Sondheim.

His creative genius remained largely undiscussed, especially by the man himself, until the creation of this show. Ranging from the beloved to the obscure, the carefully curated selection of two dozen songs is woven with in-depth video interviews that explore Sondheim’s personal and artistic journey.

The revue features songs from nineteen Sondheim musicals, including well-known, lesser-known, and cut material from shows produced over a 62-year period. Musicals represented include West Side Story, Company, Follies, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Sunday In The Park With George, Merrily We Roll Along, Passion, Sweeney Todd, Into The Woods, and more.

Georgina Onuorah, Jenna Russell, Scarlett Strallen, Lucca Chadwick-Patel, Josefina Gabrielle, Jak Malone, Clive Rowe and Jack Wolfe will appear in the concert.

Sondheim on Sondheim is directed by Paul Foster, musical direction by Alex Parker, choreography by Joanna Goodwin, lighting design by Jack Weir, sound design by Paul Smith, and video design by Neil McDowell Smith.
