Cast has been announced for the new musical The Fabulist
The musical will run at Charing Cross Theatre from 12 August to 21 September
THE FABULIST -- named after the term many top-tier magicians use to describe themselves -- is a romantic musical comedy set in a movie studio in Tuscany in 1929. A wandering fabulist, Agrofontido, is smitten with the eccentric screenwriter Clarice and seeks her hand. Unfortunately, the characters find that romance can get complicated in a hurry.
Music by Giovanni Paisiello, book and lyrics by James P Farwell (Mona Lisa), based on Paisiello’s opera The Imaginary Astrologer, directed by John Walton (Instructions for American Serviceman in Britain), musical director and orchestrator Bobby Goulder, set and costume designer David Shields, lighting designer Fridthjofur Thorsteinsson, sound designer Andrew Johnson, movement director Sean Kempton, magic consultant Harry De Cruz, and casting director Debbie O’Brien, producer Steven M Levy for Charing Cross Productions.
Cast members are Dan Smith (Julian), James Paterson (Count Petronius), Stuart Pendred (Cardinal Bandini), Constantine Andronikou (Puppupini), Réka Jónás (Clarice), Lily De La Haye (Cassandra), Jack Holton (Alternate Julian) and Marienella Phillips (Alternate: Cassandra and Clarice).
