Chicago new tour dates have been announced
The fan favourite musical is back on tour
Chicago the Musical is based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. The 1996 Broadway revival of CHICAGO was choreographed by Ann Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse, directed by Walter Bobbie, and produced by Barry and Fran Weissler.
The score includes the show-stopping songs “Razzle Dazzle”, “Cell Block Tango”, and “All That Jazz”. Winner of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy, CHICAGO is the longest-running American musical in West End and Broadway history.
In the 1920s, housewife and aspiring chorus girl Roxie Hart murders her lover. Vaudeville star Velma Kelly faces a murder trial too and they end up in the same prison. The two cynical and sexy women want to avoid conviction with the help of the shady lawyer Billy Flynn, who promises to make them media celebrities and win them acquittals.
The 2024 tour will be launched in Milton Keynes on 12 October.
