Dear Evan Hansen is touring in Australia

The tour starts in Sydney on 12 October

Sydney Theatre Company and Michael Cassel Group join forces for the Australian premiere of The Tony Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen. This is a brand new production of the Broadway smash-hit, for anyone who’s ever considered themselves “on the outside always looking in”.

Socially anxious Evan Hansen is forced to make a decision. Play along with the charade, receiving the attention he’s always craved. Or speak out and risk losing it all.

Dear Evan Hansen is the raw, moving and inspiring story of a socially anxious high schooler who is suddenly thrust into the spotlight when he inadvertently invents an important role for himself at the centre of a tragedy.

Dear Evan Hansen has a book by Steven Levenson, with music and lyrics by Bend Pasek and Justin Paul. The production is directed by Dean Bryant, set design by Jeremy Allen, costume design by Isabel Hudson, lighting design by Matt Scott, sound design by Andrew Poppleton, video design by David Bergman, movement director is Shannon Burns, music supervisor Laura Tipoki, resident director Zara Stanton, orchestration and additional arrangements by Alex Lacamoire, vocal arrangements and additional arrangements by Justin Paul.

Leading the company as Evan Hansen Beau Woodbridge joined by Martin Crewes as Larry Murphy, Verity Hunt-Ballard as Heidi Hansen, Georgia Laga’aia as Zoe Murphy, Natalie O’Donnell as Cynthia Murphy, Carmel Rodrigues as Alana Beck, Jacob Rozario as Jared Kleinman and Harry Targett as Connor Murphy. Standbys are Lawrence Hawkins, Jessica Kok, Ariyan Sharma, Tod Strike and Teresa Tate Britten.
