Disney’s Hercules cast recording has been announced

The recording is set to release on 10th October

The eagerly anticipated Original London Cast Recording of Hercules is set to make its debut this autumn, bringing to life the music and energy of Disney’s new West End musical. Originally conceived from the 1997 animated film, the stage production adds fresh musical layers and emotional depth to its score.

The cast album will launch digitally on 10 October, followed by CD release on 21 November and a vinyl edition on 5 December. It captures beloved classics like “Go the Distance,” “Zero to Hero,” and “I Won’t Say (I’m in Love)” alongside seven new songs written for the theatrical adaptation.

The London cast features Luke Brady as Hercules, Mae Ann Jorolan as Meg, Trevor Dion Nicholas as Phil, and Stephen Carlile as Hades. The ensemble includes the five Muses — Candace Furbert, Sharlene Hector, Brianna Ogunbawo, Malinda Parris, and Robyn Rose‑Li — along with Craig Gallivan and Lee Zarrett in supporting roles.

Alan Menken, who composed the original film score, expressed that this cast album “represents the culmination of a journey that started way back in the mid‑’90s,” and highlighted the joy of adapting the music for a new theatrical medium. Lyricist David Zippel remarked on the opportunity to deepen the characters’ emotional arcs through the new songs.

Recorded in studio yet designed to evoke the theatre’s live energy, the album aims to give listeners a taste of the West End experience at home. For those who can’t see Hercules at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, this recording offers a compelling sonic journey into the heart of the show.
