Disney’s Hercules lead cast has been revealed

The musical will open run from 6 June 2025 at Theatre Royal Drury Lane

The musical is based on Disney’s 1997 animated film directed by John Musker and Ron Clements and follows Hercules, who - thanks to a clever trick by his uncle Hades - ends up on Earth as a human. Still endowed with god-like powers, he searches for his place in the world with the help of his trainer Phil and faces the enormous challenges that Hades has in store for him in order to become a true hero and return to Olympus.

The title role will be played by Luke Brady (As You Like It, SuperYou, Assassins, The Prince of Egypt). The show is booking to 10 January 2026.

Hercules has music by Oscar winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Tony Award winner David Zippel, and book by Tony Award winner Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah.

Hercules is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, who said: “In a search that took us across the globe, we have found our perfect hero in Luke, and I look forward to working with him over the coming months to develop the much-loved character of Hercules. We can’t wait for him to lift the roof at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.”

The creative team is completed by set and additional video designer Dane Laffrey, costume designer Gregg Barnes and Sky Switser, lighting designer Jeff Croiter, sound designer Adam Fisher,  video designer George Reeve, hair by Mia M. Neal, make-up by Kirk Cambridge-Del Pesche and special effects from Jeremy Chernick, music supervisor and arranger Michael Kosarin, orchestrations from Danny Troob and Joseph Joubert, dance arrangements by David Chase. Casting is by Natalie Gallacher CDG for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting.

Further details are yet to be announced.
