Disney’s The Little Marmaid premiere has been announced by Austrian Bühne Baden

The musical will premiere on 4th October 2026

A dream comes true in Baden! Bühne Baden is staging Disney's musical THE LITTLE MERMAID – a classic from the world of Disney – as the first performance in German for the very first time. Ever since the Oscar-winning film first enchanted audiences in 1989, The Little Mermaid has been one of Disney's greatest successes.

Now this success is coming to Baden in a vibrant stage production for the whole family – a magical musical for everyone who dares to dream!

The Little Mermaid has music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman & Glenn Slater book by Doug Wright, German translation by Nina Schneider, additional German lyrics by Frank Lenart. The story is based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen and the Disney film of the same name producers: Howard Ashman & John Musker Written and directed by John Musker & Ron Clements. Original production: Disney Theatrical Group.

Musical direction by Victor Petrov, stage direction by Andreas Gergen, choreography by Francesc Abós, set design by Momme Hinrichs, costumes by Aleksandra Kica, lighting design by Stephanie Affleck, sound design by Florian Carau and mask design by Edu von Gomes.

Carlotta, Liviana Degen as Gull, Beppo Binder as Chief Louis and Branimir Agovi as Steersman supported by Orchestra, Chorus and Dance Ensemble of the Baden Stage
