Frank Wildhorn’s new musical Einstein – A Matter of Time premieres in Switzerland
The musical will premiere in March 2025 at Konzert and Theater St Gallen
E=mc2 – probably the most famous formula in the world arose from the realization that nothing can move faster than light. Albert Einstein's theory of relativity and other groundbreaking physics treatises revolutionized the understanding of the universe and later became the basis of modern physics.
Together with musical director and Desert Flower librettist Gil Mehmert, the American composer Frank Wildhorn, whose works The Count of Monte Cristo, Arthur - Excalibur and Dracula had their world premieres or European premieres in St. Gallen, has now created a stirring musical monument to the life and work of Albert Einstein: The new musical Einstein - A Matter of Time traces the private life and eventful career of the cosmopolitan Einstein, from the young, nonconformist physics student at the Zurich Polytechnic to his employment at the Bern Patent Office to his escape from Nazi Germany and his professorship at Princeton University.
David Jakobs will be seen in the title role of Albert Einstein; Katia Bischoff will take on the role of Mileva, joined by Livio Cecini as Prof. Weber and Max Planck and Marlon Wehmeier as Marcel Grossmann and Eddington, Jan-Philipp Rekeszus (Prof. Philip Lenard), André Bauer (Milos Maric, Besso, Fritz Haber), Merlin Fargel (Maurice Solovine and cover Albert Einstein) and Philipp Dietrich (Conrad Habicht and cover Grossmann / Eddington). Anna-Julia Rogers plays Pauline Einstein and Marie Curie, Barbara Obermeier takes on the role of Elsa Löwenthal and Elise Doorn can be seen as Clara Haber. Kelly Panier complements the ensemble as 'The Light'.
