Frank Wildhorn’s Wonderland has its European premiere
The story is based on Alice in Wonderland
Frank Wildhorn is known for the wide range of topics of his musicals. His most known musicals are Jekyll and Hyde, Bonnie and Clyde, Death Note and Your Lie in April, which recently has a run on West End.
Wonderland retells the classic story of Alice in Wonderland through to a young woman Alice, who lives in New York City, struggling to keep up with a failing marriage, motherhood, and a demanding job. Her mental health is reaching the level when she is challenging her own identity. In her dreams, she identifies herself as Alice from Alice in Wonderland, in an alternative reality, meanwhile working through obstacles of unexpected characters: a Cheshire Cat with a Latin flair, a delightfully dotty Queen of Hearts, and of course, a malicious Mad Hatter. With the help of her dream, Alice finds her balance and strength again, and she realizes the power of true love.
Wonderland has its European premiere on 8th September in Linz, Austria.

The musical director of Wonderland is Tom Bitterlich, directed by Christoph Drewitz, choreography is by David Hartland, stage design is by Andrew D. Edwards, costume design by Adam Nee, lighting design by Michael Grundner, dramaturgy by Arne Beeker, video design is by Leo Flint and the second musical director is Raban Brunner.
Leading the cast as Alice are Valerie Luksch/Alexandra-Yoana Alexandrova, joined by Rosa Gruber/Helena Unger/Eva Winkelhofer/Greta Winkelhofer as Chloe / Kind im Wunderland / Junge Alice, Daniela Dett as Everheart / Herzkönigin, Sanne Mieloo as Ms Maddie Quizzle / Verrückter Hutmacher, Max Niemeyer as Jack / Weißer Ritter, Christian Fröhlich as Richard Hopper / Kaninchen, Karsten Kenzel as Tyrell Leggett / Raupe, Lukas Sandmann as Jose Purrez / El Gato and Enrico Treuse as Mo / Morris March Hare / Chaz.
