Full cast has been announced for Sunny Afternoon tour

The tour will launch at the Palace Theatre in Manchester on 10th September

Following a phenomenal two-year run in London’s West End and a sell-out UK & Ireland tour in 2016/17, the Olivier Award-winning musical that charts the rise of The Kinks is returning to theatres nationwide.

Sunny Afternoon is winner of four Olivier Awards – including Best New Musical and Outstanding Achievement in Music.

The 2025 tour opens at the Manchester Palace Theatre from 10–18 October 2025, marking the long-awaited return of this smash-hit musical.

Sunny Afternoon is set against the backdrop of Britain on the cusp of the swinging sixties and explores the highs and lows of Ray Davies and The Kinks as they rise from North London musicians to international rock stars.

From breakthrough hits and creative clashes to court cases and personal struggles, this is a story of fame, family, and standing your ground – all told through a legendary back catalogue including ‘You Really Got Me'‘Lola', ‘Waterloo Sunset', and ‘All Day and All of the Night'.

Written by Joe Penhall, directed by Edward Hall, and featuring original story, music and lyrics by Ray DaviesSunny Afternoon captures the spirit of a band – and a country – on the brink of a cultural revolution.

The cast members are Danny Horn as Ray Davies, Oliver Hoare as Dave Davies, Harry Curley as Pete Quaife, Zakarie Stokes as Mick Avory, Ben Caplan as Eddie Kassner, James Chisholm as Gregory Piven, Phil Corbitt as Mr. Davies / Allen Klein, Alasdair Craig as Larry Page, Deryn Edwards as Mrs. Davies / Marsha, Joseph Richardson as Robert Wace, Tam Williams as Grenville Collins, Emily Whitby-Samways as Peggy, Lisa Wright as Rasa, Jada Langley as Joyce and Victoria Anderson as Gwen.
