Hello Kitty Must Die musical world premiere

The cult novel based musical will play at the Pleasance Courtyard as part of Edinburgh Fringe

After the Six massive success, the producer Alchemation is hoping to repeat the success with the musical version of Hello Kitty Must Die. Based on Angela S Choi`s cult novel, award-winning composer Cecilia Lin and lyrist Jessica Wu created Fiona Yu`s musical version.

Fiona Yu is a high achieving, but highly disillusioned Chinese-American woman. She is fed up with the stereotypes forced onto her by a white, patriarchal society – namely that she is the human embodiment of a speechless cartoon feline.

Sami Ma (RENT, Paper Mill Playhouse) will lead the show as Fiona Yu, further cast members are Jully Lee (KPOP, Circle in the Square), Lennox T Duong (Dance Nation, The Juilliard Theatre), Amy Keum (KPOP, Circle in the Square) and Ann Hu (Raven’s Home, Disney).

The musical will play at the Pleasance Courtyard between 2 and 27 August.
