Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis musical concept album release date announced

The new musical is based on the film The Warriors

The novel is about a violent gang fight in New York in the 1960s when a street gang was wrongly accused of killing the head of a rival gang in the Bronx. The gang is forced to fight back to their home turf on Coney Island.

The new 26-track concept album will be released on 18 October on Atlantic Records.

Lin-Manuel Miranda is well known for being the author of the musical Hamilton, while actor/playwright Eisa Davis is known for the drama Bulrusher.

They said: “We’ve spent the past three years musicalising the Warriors’ journey home, from the South Bronx to Coney Island. Along the way we’ve gotten to work with a lot of our favourite artists, and we’ll be announcing their roles on the album in the weeks ahead. We can’t wait to share these songs with you on October 18.”
