Nerdy Prudes Must Die London: StarKid Musical Coming to Apollo Theatre

StarKid’s cult horror-comedy musical Nerdy Prudes Must Die is coming to London’s Apollo Theatre from 6 February to 7 March, following its UK premiere and the West End success of The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals.

 

Following its cult success online and its UK premiere in London, StarKid’s Nerdy Prudes Must Die is set to return to the capital for a major West End engagement at the Apollo Theatre.

The horror-comedy musical is scheduled to play the Apollo Theatre from 6 February to 7 March, giving UK audiences another chance to experience one of StarKid’s most popular Hatchetfield stories live on stage.

Written by Matt Lang and Nick Lang, with music and lyrics by Jeff Blim, Nerdy Prudes Must Die is the third musical in StarKid’s interconnected Hatchetfield universe, following The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals and Black Friday. The original production premiered in Los Angeles in 2023, before its filmed version introduced the musical to an even wider international audience.

The story is set at Hatchetfield High, where a group of students who have been bullied and marginalised decide to fight back against their tormentor, Max Jägerman. But their plan takes a horrifying turn when Max returns from the dead as a murderous ghost with a particular hatred of so-called “nerdy prudes”.

What follows is a wildly unconventional mixture of high-school comedy, supernatural horror, musical theatre and gruesome deaths, all accompanied by StarKid's trademark irreverent humour.

The musical features fan-favourite numbers including “High School Is Killing Me”, “Cool As I Think I Am”, “Dirty Girl”, “Bully The Bully”, “Nerdy Prudes Must Die”, “Just For Once” and “The Summoning”.

Nerdy Prudes Must Die has become a particular favourite among StarKid fans, with the cast recording reaching number one on the Billboard Cast Albums chart following its release.

The Apollo engagement also follows StarKid's growing presence in London's West End. The company brought The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals to the Apollo Theatre in May 2026, marking StarKid's first full West End production. The production starred members of the original StarKid company, including Jon Matteson, Lauren Lopez, Jeff Blim, Joey Richter, Jaime Lyn Beatty and Corey Dorris, with Lopez also directing.

For fans who discovered StarKid through The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, Black Friday or the Nightmare Time series, the upcoming Apollo Theatre engagement offers the opportunity to see another chapter of the increasingly interconnected Hatchetfield universe live in London.
