New Sunset Boulevard video featuring Tom Francis is out

The album will be released on 25 October through the Other Songs label.

Nicole Scherzinger leads the cast as the forgotten movie star Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic Sunset Boulevards with Tom Francis is playing Joe Gillis.

Andrew Lloyd Webber said: “This single sees Tom Francis give a mesmerising, dramatic performance, showcasing his dynamic vocal talent, and the complexity of the character of Joe Gillis. It is part of an album which, I think, is one of the best we have ever created. It perfectly captures one of the finest and most exciting reinventions of Sunset Boulevard ever produced.”

In Sunset Boulevard, haunted by her memories and dreams, movie star Norma Desmond yearns to return to the big screen. A struggling screenwriter, Joe Gillis, who can’t sell his scripts to the Hollywood studios may be her only hope, until their dangerous and captivating relationship leads to disaster. Drenched in champagne and cynicism, Sunset Boulevard focuses the lens on the ambitions and frustrations of its characters and puts their intoxicating need for fame and adoration in stark close-up.

Sunset Boulevard is written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Don Black, Christopher Hampton and Amy Powers, the album was produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jamie Lloyd, Lee McCutcheon, Adam Fisher, and Alan Williams and was recorded live at London’s Savoy Theatre. It will be released on 25 October through the Other Songs label. It was mixed officially in Dolby Atmos, spatial audio. Jamie Lloyd directed the show and the music video.
