Operation Mincemeat`s original cast goes to Broadway!
The multi-award-winning musical will run from 15 February
Following five sold-out development runs at the New Diorama Theatre in 2019 and Southwark Playhouse in 2020, 2021 & 2022, plus an extended Riverside Studios, Operation Mincemeat made the West End debut at The Fortune Theatre in May 2023.
Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Noel Coward meets Noel Fielding, and Operation Mincemeat is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won Britain World War II. The question is, how did a well-dressed corpse wrong-foot Hitler?
Operation Mincemeat is written and composed by David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson and Zoë Roberts, who form SpitLip. The show is presented in the West End by Avalon (in association with SpitLip), who have supported since the Southwark Playhouse runs. The Official London Cast Recording is produced by Grammy Award-winning and Tony, Emmy, and Olivier award-nominated Steve Sidwell. The original cast recording album was released on CD, vinyl, streaming and digital platforms in May 2023
It has been announced today that the original cast, David Cumming, Claire-Marie Hall, Natasha Hodgson, Jak Malone and Zoë Roberts will take the role of the original Broadway cast.
Operation Mincemeat will premiere at the Golden Theatre on 20 March 2025, following previews starting on 15 February.
The Broadway production is directed by Robert Hastie, choreography by Jenny Arnold, costume design by Ben Stones, lighting design by Mark Henderson, sound design by Mike Walker, orchestrations and vocal arrangements by Steve Sidwell, musical direction by Joe Bunker, and casting by Pearson. The associate director is Georgie Staight and Paul Isaiah Isles is the associate choreographer.
Broadway tickets will go on general sale on 20 November following a fan pre-sale on 18 November.
