Saturday Night Fever to bring disco fever to MusicalSommer Kufstein in 2026

The iconic Bee Gees musical Saturday Night Fever will light up the Festungsarena in Kufstein next summer, with a new open-air production featuring a cast led by Andrea de Majo and Verena Kollruss.

The hit musical Saturday Night Fever has been announced as the 2026 production for MusicalSommer Kufstein, where it will run from 31 July to 16 August in the spectacular open-air Festungsarena at Kufstein Fortress in Austria. The annual festival has become one of the country's leading musical theatre events, presenting large-scale productions against the backdrop of the historic fortress.

Based on the classic 1977 film starring John Travolta, Saturday Night Fever follows 19-year-old Tony Manero, whose passion for dancing offers an escape from his everyday life. Set to the unforgettable music of the Bee Gees, the musical features chart-topping hits including Stayin' Alive, Night Fever, How Deep Is Your Love and You Should Be Dancing, bringing the energy of the disco era to the stage.

The Kufstein production will star Andrea de Majo as Tony Manero and Verena Kollruss as Stephanie Mangano. They will be joined by Clara Marie Hendel as Annette, Taddeo Pellegrini as DJ Monty, Elisa Filace as Club Singer/Flo Manero and Frederik Stuhllemmer as Bobby C. Direction and choreography are by Vanni Viscusi, with musical direction by Eva Maria Brugger, set design by Alexander Paget and costumes by Julia Neuhold.

Performed in German with the Bee Gees' songs remaining in English, the production promises a blend of dazzling choreography, timeless music and emotional storytelling. With its unique fortress setting and weather-protected open-air arena, MusicalSommer Kufstein once again offers audiences the opportunity to experience a major musical in one of Austria's most distinctive theatrical venues.
