Why Am I So Single cast recording release
Broadway star Patti LuPone is featured on the cast album
Why Am I So Single? will release its Original London Cast Recordings in March 2025. The story follows two writers struggling to write a musical while also struggling with dating in the era of dating apps.
The show was written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, creators of the cult musical Six.
They said before the premiere, "This is ultimately a musical about two friends, their desire for love, and how they deal with loneliness. We hope people come away feeling super uplifted. And we hope they text someone the second they leave the theatre saying ‘omigosh just fyi i love you soooo much!!!!’"
The orchestrations, vocal arrangements, and musical supervision is done by Grammy and Olivier Award nominated Joe Beighton. Music production and additional orchestrations by Future Cut. According to the news, Grammy and Tony Award-nominated Paul Gatehouse, and Grammy and Brit Award-nominated singer/songwriter and producer MNEK were also involved in the album.
The West End run concluded at the end of January at Garrick Theatre and it was directed by Moss, choreographer Ellen Kane, orchestrator, musical supervisor and vocal arranger Joe Beighton, set designer Moi Tran, costume designer Max Johns, lighting designer Jai Morjaria, sound designer Paul Gatehouse, casting directors Harry Blumenau and Sarah-Jane Price, band fixers Sylvia Addison and Richard Morris, music producers Future Cut, associate choreographer Michael Naylor, production manager Phoebe Bath and general managers Kenny Wax Productions and Ameena Hamid Productions.
