Winghaven Park – A New Musical at The Actors` Church

The staged workshop will take place on 25th and 26th September at The Actors` Church

During the tensions and uncertainties of World War 2, Vera Webster, entertainer and movie star, returns to Vashon Island and her childhood home, Winghaven Park, on a War Bond tour.   The three days reveal the relationship between Vera and her sister Lily, who is estranged by a family secret for many years and turns into a road to self-discovery.  A layered plot weaves together forgotten romance, the destruction of war, racial tensions, and a young girl’s quest for a mysterious music box.

Winghaven Park is written by Lisa Peretti, directed by Gabriel Barre, set design by Justin Williams, costume design by Rubin Speed, lighting design by Toby Darvill, sound design by Dan Samson, musical supervisor Paul Schofield, casting director Harry Blumenau.

On the performance Summer Strallen will appear as Vera Webster, Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as her sister Lilly, Jamie Muscato as reverend James ‘Jim’ Lock, Ryan Anderson as Barnes, Charlotte Kennedy as Betty, and Anton Stephans as Rick joined by Lloyd Notice, Keisha Amponsa Banson, Alastair Parker, Julie Jupp, Simon Anthony, Kris Manuel, Christopher Erasmus and Maisie Mardle.
