Frank Wildhorn teased Death Note London run

According to him, there is discussion about a 2026 summer run

Death Note is based on a manga series well known by the same name by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The musical version premiered in Tokyo, Japan, in 2015, followed by the Korean version in 2022. The Korean show won the Best Musical, Korea Musical Awards.

The music was composed by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, Bonnie & Clyde), lyrics by Jack Murphy and the book by Ivan Menchell

Light Yagami, a bright but dissatisfied high school student in Tokyo, comes across a discarded notebook owned by Ryuk, the mythological god of death. Discovering he can kill anyone by just writing their names in the supernatural notebook, Light takes justice into his own hands by filling the notebook with the names of the nation’s most wanted criminals. But a detective only known as “L” is soon tracking him down…

In August 2023, two staged concerts were held at the London Palladium, which was transferred to the Lyric Theatre for a short run due to the success of the staged concerts.

Frank Wildhorn mentioned at the concert of the Argentine musical star Geronimo Rauch, where he appeared as a guest, that he is planning to bring the musical back to London in the summer of 2026.
