Heartstopper’s Joe Locke to make debut on Broadway
He will debut in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

The Heartstopper star will make his Broadway debut on 31 January as Tobias.
He will debut just ahead of the arrival of Aaron Tveit as Sweeney Todd and Sutton Foster as Mrs Lovett.
Joe Locke made his professional stage debut in 2022 in The Trials at the Donmar’s Warehouse. He is best known as Charlie Spring in the Netflix acclaimed coming-of-age drama Heartstopper. In 2024 he will star alongside Kathryn Hahn, Aubrey Plaza and Patti LuPone in the Disney+/Marvel TV series Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, based on the Marvel Comics character Agatha Harkness.
Thomas Kail directed the Sweeney Todd revival, which opened last March—music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Hugh Wheeler. The story was adapted from Christopher Bond’s play of the same name. Lead producer Jeffrey Sellar.
