Maria Theresia The Musical world premiere at the Ronacher Theatre in Vienna

MARIA THERESIA – THE MUSICAL, a brand-new VBW in-house production, is coming to the Ronacher stage in October 2025. This epic work tells the fascinating story and legacy of one of the most influential monarchs of the 18th century – a vivid portrait of power, passion and historical change. An epic drama: powerful music and exciting story.
The opulent musical combines monumental drama with modern sound, pulsating beats with haunting lyrics. Timeless history meets contemporary staging and creates a rousing stage experience full of energy and surprises. With this spectacular production, Ronacher Theater is making a powerful statement and paying tribute to the legendary ruler – young, dynamic and absolutely distinctive.
Nienke Slats will lead the cast as Maria Theresia joined by Fabio Diso as Francis Stephen of Lorraine, Moritz Mausser as Frederick II of Prussia, Annemieke Van Dam as Madame Fox, Annemarie Lauretta as Empress Elisabeth Christine, Dominik Hees as Emperor Charles VI/Michael Gabriel Fredersdorff, Andreas Wolfram as Chancellor Bartenstein, Aeneas Hollweg as Joseph, Amelie Polak as Marie Christina/Cover Maria Theresia, Clemens Otto Bauer as Leopold/Cover Franz Stephan von Lothringen, Petra Ilse Dam as Maria Elisabeth/Cover Madame Fuchs, Elies de Vries as Johanna Gabriele, Klaudia Dodes as Lady of the Court1/Cover Empress Elisabeth Christine, Dominik Doll as Augusth of Saxony/Cover Chancellor Bartenstein/Cover Emperor Charles VI/Michael Gabriel Fredersdorff, Briannajoy Ebunola as Maria Anna.
