MJ The Musical set final West End performance date

Final extension and UK tour have been announced

MJ The Musical opened at the Prince Edward Theatre on 6 March 2024 and features Micheal Jackson’s biggest hits.

MJ is written by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Christopher Wheeldon.

The cast is led by Jamaal Fields-Green as MJ, joined by Matt Mills as Joseph Jackson/Rob, Mitchell Zhangazha as Michael, Philippa Stefani as Rachel, Kieran Alleyne as alternate MJ and standby for Michael, André Phipps as standby for MJ and stanby for Michael, KoKo Alexandra as Katherine Jackson/Kare, Joshua C Jackson as Berry Gordy/Nick, Rohan Pinnock-Hamilton as Tito Jackson/Quincy Jones, Matt Gonsalves as Alejandro, Michael Conley as Dave, Milan Cacacie, Filippo Coffano, Tevin Daniel, Gabrielle de Souza, Hanna Dimtsu, Aden Dzuda, Ike Fallon, Christopher Gopaul, Kalisha Johnson, Wilson Kiiru, Darnell Mathew-James, Buna McCreery-Njie, Jenay Naima, Nay-Nay, Rishard-Kyro Nelson, George Ross, Lydia Sterling, Fraser Stewart, Charlotte-Kate Warren, Tavio Wright, Ari Adebiyi, Cristiano Cuino, Zane Chaba, Miles Jabbie, Kristiano Ricardo, Ashton Robertson and Asher Swaray-Gray and Zayne Tayabali.

Scenic design by Derek McLane, lighting design by Natasha Katz, costume design by Paul Tazewell, sound design by Gareth Owen, projection design by Peter Nigrini and wig and hair design by Charles G. LaPointe. Musical supervision is by David Holcenberg, with orchestrations and arrangements by David Holcenberg and Jason Michael Webb, UK casting by Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher, with young performer casting by Amy Beadel.

The musical will embark on tour in 2027.
