Calendar Girls The Musical tour stops, and casting has been announced
The tour will launch at Bromley on 10 January
The death of a much-loved husband prompts a group of ordinary women in a small Yorkshire Women's Institute to do an extraordinary thing. Blasting away all preconceptions of what it is to be in the WI, they decide to do an artistic nude calendar to raise money for charity.
But upturning preconceptions is a dangerous business. None of them expects the emotional and personal ramifications as gradually making the fabulous and funny calendar brings each woman unexpectedly into flower.
Gary Barlow and Tim Firth wrote the true story of the Calendar Girls The Musical based on the 2003 movie, starring Helen Mirren and Julie Walters.
The touring cast includes Laurie Brett, Helen Pearson, Samantha Seager, Maureen Nolan, Lyn Paul, and Honeysuckle Weeks. They are joined by Liz Carney, Colin R Campbell, Andrew Tuton, Jayne Ashley and Victoria Hay. The tour production is directed by Jonathan O’Boyle, and producer Bill Kenwright Ltd.
The tour launches at Bromley and will visit Salford, Blackpool, Bradford, York, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Bath, Windsor, Aylesbury, Woking, Norwich and Crawley.
